    NDF conducts a training session on Reproductive Health and Climate Change

    Sanghar: NDF Sanghar in collaboration with Pathfinder International, the fourth workshop of a comprehensive training program for women on climate change and sexual, reproductive health and rights (SRHR) was successfully organized in Sanghar. The purpose of the 03-day training session was to empower women. Measures were to be taken to provide women with the necessary knowledge about climate change and reproductive health and to highlight their skills to solve their important problems. Speaking on the occasion, The Guest Speakers Mr. Tariq Hussain Channar Program Manager NDF, Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Soomro Project Manager NDF Sanghar and others said that the topics of the training workshop were to create awareness about the effects of climate change on the local population and to make aware to the participants on sustainable methods to counter climate change effects. It was emphasized to minimize the effects of environmental degradation. They added that the effects of climate change are vital for a healthy environment. The importance of reproductive health was also emphasized during the training, the participants expressing interest in knowledge on reproductive health, family planning, child marriage and gender-sensitive approaches to general health care. Speakers said that women play an important role in the survival and sustainability of the social environment against the effects of climate change. Their need to increase knowledge about environmental sustainability and reproductive health can promote cooperation between strong and healthy societies. The speakers urged to take steps to stop felling of trees and to plant new trees. At the end, training certificates were also distributed among the participants.

    Contingency plan saves lives, minimises impact of emergencies Abid Lashari

    NAWABSHAH – National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) with the collaboration of Korea SHE Foundation conducted training workshop on Contingency planning during flood response. During the workshop guest speakers, Abid Lashari President NDF, Akram Khaskheli, President Hag Welfare Association, Advocate Lal Chand, Tariq Hussain Channar, Asma Munir & others said that in preparation for potential disasters, the contingency plans are prepared to mitigate risks and protect communities. This proactive measure underscores our commitment to safeguarding lives and minimizing the impact of emergencies. As we continue to face the challenges posed by natural disasters and emergencies, NDF Pakistan reaffirms its dedication to implementing robust contingency measures that prioritize safety, resilience, and community well-being. We urge all stakeholders to remain vigilant and prepared during times of potential crisis. The speakers urged District Disaster Management Authorities & Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to ensure the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the contingency plan that upcoming measures should be taken for persons with disabilities during the emergencies. NDF launched public awareness campaigns to educate communities on disaster preparedness and response protocols.

    NDF conducts a 03 day training workshop on climate change and SRHR in Sanghar

    SANGHAR: NDF Sanghar in collaboration with Pathfinder International, conducted the second workshop of a comprehensive training program for women on climate change and Sexual, Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) was successfully organized in Sanghar. The objective of the 03-day training workshop is to empower women by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to take action to solve their pressing problems. On this occasion, speakers Mr. Sikandar Ali Babbar Program Manager Pathfinder International, Mr. Tariq Hussain Channar Program Manager NDF, Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Soomro and others said that the topics of the training workshop were to create awareness about the effects of climate change on the local population and the participants designed to educate on sustainable practices that minimize the effects of environmental degradation. The importance of SRHR was also emphasized during the training, aiming to provide attendees with important information on reproductive health, family planning, and gender-sensitive approaches to health care. The speakers further highlighted the importance of empowering women in rural areas and said, “Women play an important role in the survival and sustainability of the community against the effects of climate change.” By increasing their knowledge about environmental sustainability and reproductive health, we can promote cooperation between strong and healthy societies. The speakers further said that tree planting is a basic step to counter the climate change effects but the take-care of trees is a crucial step to increase the growth of trees. In the end, training certificates were also distributed among the participants.

    Mr. Faisal Malik, Chairman of NDF International USA, Visits NDF Rehabilitation Center in Karachi

    Karachi: Mr. Faisal Malik, Chairman of NDF International USA, recently visited the NDF Rehabilitation Centre in Karachi, during his visit to Pakistan, reaffirming his organization’s commitment to supporting initiatives that empower individuals with disabilities. The visit aimed to strengthen partnerships and gain firsthand insights into the impactful work being carried out at the NDF rehabilitation centre in Gulistan e Johar Karachi. NDF Rehabilitation Centre has been a cornerstone in providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to children with disabilities since 2023 with the collaboration of DEPD Department Government of Sindh. During his visit, Mr. Malik toured the facility and interacted with staff members, patients, and beneficiaries who benefit from the centre’s holistic approach to rehabilitation. “I am deeply impressed by the dedication and compassion shown by the team at NDF Rehabilitation Centre,” said Mr. Faisal Malik. “Their commitment to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through personalized care and support is truly inspiring.” The NDF Rehabilitation Centre offers a range of services including physical therapy, psychotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and vocational training, educational support, and the social integration. These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of life and promote inclusivity for persons with disabilities in Karachi and surrounding areas.
