Regional Director DEPD Department Karachi visits PDSA Pakistan

Karachi: Mr. Farman Ali Tanwari Regional Director & Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed Khan, Deputy Director of the Regional Directorate of Special Education & Rehabilitation Centers, under the Department of Empowerment and Persons with Disabilities (DEPD) Government of Sindh, Karachi, recently conducted a visit to PDSA Pakistan. The primary objective of the visit was to assess the organization’s requirements for additional financial support and to explore the feasibility of establishing a new unit in Gulshan-e-Hadid, Karachi.

Accompanied by a team of officials, Mr. Farman Ali Tanwari engaged in a comprehensive evaluation of PDSA Pakistan’s facilities and services. Through dialogue with key management led by Mr. Abid Lashari CEO PDSA and others sought to gain insights into the current challenges faced by the organization and identify avenues for collaboration and assistance. Enhancing the well-being and empowerment and rehabilitation of children with disabilities especially Down Syndrome is a cornerstone of our mission at the Regional Directorate of Special Education,

“Stated Mr. Farman Ali Tanwari. “Our visit to PDSA Pakistan has afforded us valuable insights into the organization’s needs, particularly in terms of financial backing and the potential establishment of new facilities.” Special attention was dedicated during the visit to assessing the feasibility of establishing a new unit in Gulshan e Hadid, Karachi. Preliminary discussions were conducted regarding the possible range of services to be provided at the proposed unit, as well as the logistical requirements for its establishment.

Mr. Farman Ali Tanwari underscored the significance of partnerships the collaboration between Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD) Government of Sindh and Pakistan Down Syndrome Association (PDSA) in addressing the diverse needs of individuals with disabilities. He reiterated the Regional Directorate’s unwavering commitment to extending full support to initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life and fostering the inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to continue discussions and explore potential avenues for collaboration between the Regional Directorate of Special Education & Rehabilitation Centers, Karachi and PDSA Pakistan. Both parties expressed optimism regarding the prospect of forging meaningful partnerships in the near future.
