NDF Praises DEPD’s Major Contribution in Providing Assistive Devices to Persons with Disabilities Across Sindh

Nawabshah: The National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan has lauded the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, for its significant efforts in providing assistive devices to thousands of persons with disabilities across the province.

Speaking on the occasion, Haji Abid Lashari, President of NDF Pakistan, said that this initiative by the Sindh Government has brought hope to thousands of persons with disabilities who were previously living without the essential support of assistive devices. “Wheelchairs, tricycles, and hearing aids are not luxuries — they are basic human needs for persons with disabilities. DEPD’s support in fulfilling these needs is highly commendable,” Lashari added.

He further said Syed Murad Ali Shah Chief Minister Sindh has dedicated this initiative at the name of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

He further informed that NDF Pakistan has also been awarded a grant to support the distribution of assistive devices in the districts of Shaheed Benazir Abad, Larkana, Hyderabad, and Karachi. Through this grant, NDF aims to cover the unmet needs of many deserving individuals, ensuring their inclusion and mobility.

NDF Pakistan and PDSA remain committed to promoting the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities and calls on other stakeholders to follow DEPD’s example in creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
