Bangkok: Abid Lashari represented the National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan at the Regional Humanitarian Partnership Week (RHPW) 2025, held in Bangkok, Thailand.
During his address, Mr. Lashari delivered a strong and impactful message, emphasizing the need to transform humanitarian approaches toward disability inclusion. He stated that Persons with Disabilities should not be considered as beneficiaries but as partners and frontline responders during disasters. Inclusion is our mandate.”
RHPW 2025 marked a significant milestone with two Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs)—from Pakistan and the Philippines—representing their countries. Their participation reflected a growing commitment across Asia to embed disability inclusion at the core of humanitarian preparedness, response, and recovery.
NDF Pakistan reaffirmed its dedication to promoting meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in humanitarian action. The organization continues to amplify marginalized voices, strengthen representation at regional and global platforms, and advocate for disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction (DRR) at local, national, and regional levels.
