1st May Labour Day Observed – NDF Pakistan Calls for Inclusive and Dignified Employment for All

Nawabshah: On the occasion of Labour Day, the President of the National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan, Abid Lashari, paid tribute to the historical struggle of workers, especially remembering the sacrifices made during the Chicago incident which laid the foundation for global labour rights.

In a statement issued from Nawabshah, Mr. Lashari emphasized the need to recognize labourers with fair salaries and adequate benefits. “It is our collective responsibility to ensure that all workers are treated with dignity and are provided their due rights,” he said.

He further urged the Sindh Government to fully implement and enforce labour laws that include marginalized communities such as persons with disabilities and transgender individuals. “Labour rights should not exclude anyone. Persons with disabilities and transgender individuals must be provided dignified access to employment, fair wages, and decent work opportunities under inclusive labour policies,” he added.

NDF Pakistan continues to advocate for inclusive development and equitable labour participation for all segments of society.
