In a country where disability rights often go unnoticed, Abid Lashari, President of the National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan, stands out as a beacon of hope. With over two decades of unwavering advocacy for persons with disabilities (PWDs), his efforts have transformed countless lives, breaking barriers and paving the way for a more inclusive society.

Under his leadership, NDF Pakistan has expanded into a powerful agent of change, operating four free rehabilitation centers across Nawabshah, Larkana, Gulistan-e-Johar Karachi, and Gulshan-e-Hadeed Karachi. These centers provide physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, and remedial education to over 400 children with intellectual and physical disabilities — all free of charge. To further ease access, NDF offers complimentary pick-and-drop services, ensuring that even the most marginalized families receive quality care.

Abid Lashari’s vision goes beyond rehabilitation. He has pioneered initiatives that integrate climate change action, youth empowerment, and disability inclusion into policymaking. His notable achievements include:

Empowering waste pickers in Karachi through sustainable waste management solutions.
Promoting green energy access for PWDs in underserved areas of Sindh.
Advocating for policy reforms under the Sindh Disability Act and Sindh Youth Policy, amplifying the voices of PWDs at the highest levels.
Internationally recognized for his impactful work, Abid Lashari represents NDF Pakistan on global platforms in collaboration with organizations like Down Syndrome International (DSi) UK. His leadership bridges local challenges with international solidarity, bringing global best practices to Pakistan while sharing innovative local solutions with the world.
