NDF Pakistan Distributes 200 Assistive Devices In Sanghar

National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan distributed 200 assistive devices including wheelchairs and tricycles, to persons with disabilities in Sanghar district, aiming to improve mobility and quality of life in rural communities.

Addressing the ceremony, Sara Javed, Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, emphasized that assistive devices are essential for enabling persons with disabilities to live dignified and independent lives. She appreciated the collaboration between the Government of Sindh and NDF Pakistan and stressed the importance of reaching underserved rural populations.

Abid Lashari, President NDF Pakistan, highlighted the severe shortage of mobility aids in rural districts. He stated that wheelchairs and tricycles are not just equipment but tools for inclusion, enabling access to education, livelihoods, and social participation. He thanked the DEPD, Government of Sindh, for allocating funds and trusting NDF Pakistan to implement the distribution in Sanghar.

Nisar Ahmed Brohi, Regional Director, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Shaheed Benazir Abad informed that the Government of Sindh allocated dedicated funds for assistive devices under its disability support initiatives. He added that distribution through credible organizations like NDF Pakistan ensures transparency and effective outreach to deserving beneficiaries.
