Larkana: National Disability and Development Forum (NDF) on the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day (September 8) in collaboration with Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh organized the awareness session at NDF Rehabilitation in Larkana.
The event highlighted the importance of physiotherapy, especially the important role of physiotherapy in the lives of children with autism, Down syndrome and other mental disabilities. On this occasion, Director NDF Dr. Ayesha Wagan, Physiotherapist Ms. Sakina and Mr. Mohammad Khan Jamali described the process of physiotherapy as a means of saving lives.
They added that physiotherapy is often the only hope for many people, especially those recovering from a stroke. It can really make the difference between life and death. Physiotherapy plays a very effective role in the rehabilitation of disabled children and improving their quality of life.
Parents of children benefiting from NDF’s rehabilitation services for mentally challenged children appreciated the ongoing efforts of the organization to provide free physiotherapy and other related therapy facilities in Larkana.
Acknowledging the important role of the organization in the welfare of the society, they said that the said services play a role in improving the welfare and development of their children. On this occasion, the parents of the children described the Larkana center as God gifted and said that the scope of the remarkable rehabilitation services of the center should be expanded.
