NDF Pakistan Marks World Disability Day in Larkana

Larkana: The National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan organized an event to mark World Disability Day (3rd December) in Larkana, in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, ADDTF, and the National Disability Alliance (NDA).

The event was attended by Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the services of NDF Pakistan in Larkana and emphasized the need to discourage negative and discriminatory attitudes in society towards persons with disabilities. He highlighted that inclusion and respect are essential for building an equitable society.
Khair Muhammad Shaikh Advisor to CM also visited NDF Rehabilitation Center in larkana. He appreciated all sections of the Center.
Muhammad Khan Jamali, Manager NDF Larkana, briefed the participants on NDF’s rehabilitation services and ongoing initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children and persons with disabilities in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Saeed Ahmed Jatoi, Deputy Regional Director DEPD, stated that the Government of Sindh and the DEPD are promoting an “ease to do business” approach to actively engage Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and civil society organizations in service delivery according to their areas of expertise. He recognized NDF Pakistan as one of the leading organizations in Sindh providing rehabilitation services and praised its commendable work for the disability cause.

The event also featured tableau and performances by children with disabilities, which were highly appreciated by the audience and reflected their confidence, talent, and inclusion in society.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment by all stakeholders to continue joint efforts for the empowerment, rehabilitation, and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Sindh.
